“As a busy single parent, I hated leaving my Golden Retriever alone all day while I worked, but I couldn’t afford expensive sitters. Through Pawshare Club, I connected with two neighbours who had lost their own dog. They’re now his loving ‘godpawrents,’ walking him a few times each week. It’s been a lifesaver for me and pure joy for my dog”

From Dave, Pawshare Club Member

“We are a couple who love dogs and cats but not ready to change our lifestyle by having a permanent pet as it ties up our freedom fair bit. We use Pawshare Club to connect with other pets and their pet owners so when we have our own in the future, it will be a easy transition. Also, we get to cuddle lovely pets in a flexible manner”

From Jonathan & Michelle, Pawshare Club Members

Our member’s story

Being a single dog parent with a demanding career isn’t easy. Long hours away from home often lead to guilt about leaving a dog alone for too long. That was the reality for Dave, one Melbourne professional, who wanted the best for his golden retriever but struggled to balance work with care.

At the same time, Catherine - a dog lover who had lost her own golden retriever a couple of years ago - was looking for a way to reconnect with dogs. She wasn’t ready for the full-time commitment of ownership, and her circumstances didn’t allow her to have a dog just yet. Still, she longed for the joy of their companionship.

That’s when Pawshare Club brought their lives - and love for dogs - together.

 FAQs

    • Every member creates a detailed profile on pawshare club, where you can read about each dog's behavior, size, care needs, and personality.

    • Highly recommend setting up multiple coffee or brunch meetups, or even going on walks together. This way, you can get to know the other pawrents (& dog lovers) and their dog’s personality before committing to long term pet sittings

  • To ensure everyone’s safety, we enforce a zero-tolerance policy:

    • If someone behaves inappropriately, users can easily report, which could result in their removal from the platform.

    • Members get asked to complete a short pet care safety course & quiz, and upload their ID or linkedin profile (only visible to admin) to help build trust and ensure the safety of our members.

    • We have a review system to build trust

  • Test their compatibility with a playdate is a must.

    Tips for walking multiple dogs:

    • Use strong, tangle-free leashes or halti

    • Choose quiet routes and keep walks calm.

Tips for pet sitting multiple dogs:

    • Monitor play and separate if dogs get too excited. Regular breaks teach them to settle down often.

    • Set clear boundaries and supervise closely.

  • Absolutely! You can borrow a dog for walks or playdates — it’s a great way to spend time with dogs and, if you’re working toward a dog training certificate, gain real hands-on experience with different breeds and personalities.

Before helping out, always communicate openly with the dog’s owner about your experience and learn about the dog’s temperament and behaviour. Some dogs may have specific challenges, and understanding them helps keep both you and the dog safe.

Plus, you might even meet other dog lovers who don’t yet have a pup of their own but are keen to share pet care duties — it’s a wonderful way to build friendships and community before welcoming your own dog someday!

  • No, for everyone's safety, dogs with serious behavior issues should not join the community until their behavior is improved. There are many facebook groups, professional trainers that you can still post questions and seek advice from others on how to help your dog.

  • Pawshare Club is built to support dog lovers like you—helping each other reduce the financial and emotional stress of pet care. While the spirit of the platform is community-driven, there are real costs involved in keeping it running securely and smoothly, including technology, support, and outreach.

Your contribution helps cover these costs and ensures we can keep improving the platform to better serve our members. We aim to keep our fees as low as possible—significantly more affordable than traditional pet-sitting services—so more people can access reliable, trustworthy support.

By subscribing, you’re not just accessing a service—you’re helping build a caring, sustainable community for pet lovers.

  • We have a fair exchange system that rewards members for helping others with pet sitting/walking in the community. We use the same points to get help. We use reward points instead of money. Check out https://www.pawshareclub.com/how-points-work

  • No, we don’t offer insurance directly. Pawshare Club is focused on building a trusted, community-driven network — not a traditional paid pet care marketplace.

One of our core values is keeping the platform low-cost and accessible, so more pet lovers can benefit from shared care. Offering built-in insurance would significantly increase costs for members, and we want to grow in a way that remains inclusive and affordable for now.

That said, we strongly recommend that all parties involved in pet care have appropriate insurance coverage.

We’ve partnered with the following insurance via our unique referral/affiliate link to help our members save money.

    - Fetch Pet Insurance, and our members get 1 month free when signing up.

In Case of an Emergency, Pawshare Club is a community platform that connects pet lovers — we are a middleman, not a pet care provider. All arrangements are made directly between members (proper profile check, meet & greet, and organising pet sitting notes are essential)

Sitters are expected to act in the pet’s best interest during an emergency. For situations beyond anyone’s control, owners are responsible for covering vet bills, as these types of incidents can happen to any pet owner.

However, if an incident occurs due to a clear sitter mistake — for example, ignoring an owner's request to keep Bella on a leash and she runs into the street — it’s reasonable to expect the sitter to help cover the resulting costs.

This should be discussed and resolved directly between the parties involved. Pawshare Club does not offer mediation or assume liability for any injuries, damages, or accidents that occur through community arrangements.
